Before the sighting

Career Connecticut politician. Hawkish national-security Democrat-turned-Independent.

During the sighting

PROMPT PREMISE INCORRECT: Across Wikipedia AATIP, NYT 2017 disclosure, NPR, CNN, NewsNation, FOIA-released DIA docs — consistently identified co-sponsors with Reid are Stevens (R-AK) and Inouye (D-HI), NOT Lieberman. No primary or secondary source confirms Lieberman as AAWSAP/AATIP funder. As Homeland Security chair 2007-2013 he had general jurisdiction over interagency security matters but NO specific UAP-related hearing, letter, or action is documented.

After the sighting

Died Mar 27 2024 of fall complications.

Research notes

FLAGGED FOR ARCHIVE REVIEW. Including Lieberman as UAP actor risks introducing factual error. Score 2/3 reflects insufficient evidence to score as anything. Recommended action: either swap to Inouye in the archive, or retain Lieberman only with explicit 'tangential / unsubstantiated' caveat. Inouye (1924-2012, decorated WWII vet, Senate Appropriations chair) would be more historically accurate.
