Narrative
On 11 October 1956 at approximately 1938 local time, an unidentified flying object was observed from 55th Street at Palisade Avenue at 39 degrees elevation. The object had jagged edges, varied between pinhead-sized at arm's length and increased size, displayed red and orange coloration, and drifted while at times standing still and moving west slowly over an 18-minute period. Observation was conducted ground-visual with binoculars used for part of the time. Weather included 15-mile visibility with broken ceiling, suggesting a possible weather (ceiling) balloon. Reported by 1/Lt John Corry, CIC/DI, 26th Air Division.
